What Value Of Democracy For The Masses In Nigeria.

Democracy as a system of Government has been pursued from decades and promised repeatedly by those in power, Provision of good system of Government (economically, politically, educationally and others) but promises seems fail and Nigeria remains to be nothing than Democratic system.

For a democracy to be successful, people of the country need to feel like they matter, their vote matter and that the Government cares about them. 

A true democracy is "people initiated, people promoted, sustained by the people for the benefit of the people" stated by Ogunyele(2005). But in a country tiled with corruption, are we promoted or valued?, Promotion in economic, infrastructures, freedom and social amenities.

The only thing sustained as a whole is Oil industry and Croplands which is of no advantage to Nigerians with failure of utilization. Metaphorically, Nigeria is a lamp which give no light underneath but for others service.

In addition to this, I was very surprised when I came across the News that Ghana and Cameroon raised protest against the removal of Subsidy in Nigerian. This shows the value of our mineral resources is valueless to Nigerians at large. Until we value and utilize our resources well, we can be valued. 

In the record of Nigeria History so far, the democracy system of Government By the people, Of the people and For the people it's rather crawling in the mud of Under developed, rather than developing or developed.

Nigeria may be far from working democracy but at least initiatives has existed to put one to place for Nigeria's future, it is not impossible to create a sustainable democracy but alot of works and human services must be done on various system (economic, politics, education, intellectual thinking). 
Human services can work for a better democracy!!!!.
