DETAILS ABOUT ABORTION

    Abortion is said to be a procedure to end a pregnancy, it involve taking a medicines or having a surgical procedure.

The difference between abortion and miscarriage is; Abortion is the termination of pregnancy voluntarily while Miscarriage is the termination of pregnancy involuntarily.

    Historically, the first recorded evidence of induced abortion is from the egyptian, ebers papyrus in 1550CE. many of the methods employed in early cultures were non-surgical.

  Also in the early roman catholic church,abortion was permitted for make fetus in the first 40 days of pregnancy and for female fetuses in the first 80-90 days.

  Abortion is a controversial topic in nigeria. Abortion in nigeria is governed by two laws that differ depending on geographical location. Northern nigeria is governed by the penal code and Sourthern nigeria is governed by the criminal code.

  *The only legal way to have abortion in nigeria is if having the child is going to put mother's life in danger. however, sex selective abortion has long hard acceptance in nigeria.*

   

 In 1981, the national council of women societies expressed that more effort should be put towards family planning education and prevention of pregnancy outside of marriage which can bring abortion later,they also expected parents of the house to enforce strong moral values for the country.

       The campaign against unwanted pregnancy(coup) was created in 1991 with the mission of defending womens sexual and reproductive right and eliminating unsafe abortion. 

   Hospital and clinic also bring out a process which is carried out after they discover that the person has undergoes abortion or miscarriage, the process is "manual vacuum aspiration " this process is used to remove retained product of conception which is caused by miscarriage, and it is done in other not to cause damaging to the mothers,

e .g high fever,urinary tract infection and genital trauma.

 In short, unwanted pregnancy lead to abortion in nigeria and it is advisable not to do illegal abortion, because it also lead to death.

Abortion can take place for some reasons but must be in a legal way with medical intervention. Abortion can be adivisable to do in some factors which can affect the mother:

Firstly, when the mother have incomplete cervix(cervix begin to open too early in pregnancy,so it is advisable to abort the pregnancy because it can cause harm to the mother.

Secondly, improper implantation of fertilized egg in uterine lining.

Thirdly, when the pregnancy is ectopic pregnancy(when the pregnancy is outside the cavity of the uterus, so if they discover it early,abortion can take place.

SUMMARY:

Ladies should keep themselves safe when they know they are not ready to marry or nursing child in other not to cause any damages to themselves, 

"ALWAYS SAY NO TO ILLEGAL ABORTION"
